Autumn is most definitely on the way. I can feel it in the cool mornings and evenings, the darker nights (which are so welcome in our home!), the candles which are lit with increased regularity, and the delicious feeling of new starts that tells me September is close.

I’ve put away our Summer books and pulled out the Autumn pile; it’s grey and pouring with rain today, and I couldn’t wait any longer. This is one of my favourite rituals each time the seasons change. I’ve brought a mix of books out: some purely seasonal, a few books about the moon and space to go alongside reading about the harvest moon, some books specifically on celebrating the harvest season, and a couple of books on seeds.

These will be read alongside our usual books during morning timetea time, and any other time we read together. I find reading seasonal books together is such a wonderful way to reflect on the changing seasons and to soak up some of the magic of living in a climate with such pronounced seasons, something I am hugely grateful for.
