Frida Be Mighty Mother’s Morning : Simplicity

There is something profoundly nourishing about stepping out of our everyday lives and coming together with other women to share, grow, and be inspired. As mothers, I believe that taking time to reflect on our parenting, and recharging so that we may pour from a cup that is well filled, should not be viewed as a luxury.

I know how valuable it is to be with parents who share the same ideals. In a culture where everything is faster! earlier! busier! it can feel lonely to choose a slower, more natural, more intentional childhood for our children. For this reason, I will be running the first of what I hope will be many workshops; a place for mothers to meet, share ideas, and discuss fears or problems, whilst we hold each other’s space.

The theme for the morning is simplicity, and over tea and delicious cake we will spend the morning discussing ideas for simplifying and slowing down in our homes, our schedules, and our children’s daily lives.

Why simplicity? Because most mothers can relate to the pressure of “too much”; too much to get done, too much clutter, too much pressure to have it all, do it all, be it all. It’s not just us. Our children are affected by this pressure too. Simplifying can be an enormously powerful way for families to regain balance – and find joy in the process.

Looking at ideas from the Montessori and Waldorf philosophies, we will explore simple ways to transform our homes into spaces of calm and beauty where our children’s independence is encouraged – even when space and money are limited.

Together, will look at how to build meaningful daily and weekly rhythms which reflect our values and priorities, and delve a little into the power of saying “no”.

After the morning is over, you will leave filled with energy, full of ideas, and feeling supported and upheld in your choices, having set powerful intentions for your parenting and shared with women who have truly listened to you.
